Dr. Hamid and Associates, a leading Bangladeshi law firm, was set up by Dr. Kazi Aktar Hamid in 1993 immediately upon his return from Ottawa, Canada. Before his return from Canada, Dr. Hamid was serving as a legal consultant of the Law Reform Commission of Canada (LRCC) under the Department of Justice, Government of Canada. During his time, the Commission was headed by Mr. Justice Gile Letourneau as the Chairman of the Commission.

Dr. Hamid obtained his LL.B. (Hons.) from the University of Dhaka. He then obtained Master of Comparative Jurisprudence from the Howard University School of Law, Washington D.C., thereafter, LL.B. (NCA, Canada) and Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) from Fauteux Hall, University of Ottawa.

Dr. Hamid became a member of the Bangladesh Bar Council in October, 1988. He was enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court Division in January, 1994. In 2001, he was enrolled as an advocate of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. And finally as a Senior Advocate (silk) of the Supreme Court in December, 2016.

Over the years, we have grown and successfully expanded our practice virtually in all areas of Civil (e.g., Land, Labor, Company, Writ, Banking, Commercial, Arbitration, Family etc.) and Criminal matters.

[Already he successfully completed a few number of cases of some foreigners Korean , Chaina, Chekusolavkia etc. who came to do business in Bangladesh.] Our law firm is affiliated with the MAK Sultan and Associates law firm in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
